Nearby, just south of the intersection of US Route 50 with West Virginia state Route 93 sits a log house dating to ca.1800. The house has over the years served as both a residence and a way station for changing horses carrying the mail from what is today Keyser, West Virginia to Petersburg, West Virginia. Situated on a portion of farm property originally settled in the late eighteenth century, the log house itself was last permanently occupied by members of an original settling family; Thomas R. Bosley, Sr., his wife Bess Dale Corey Bosley and their children resided there uninterruptedly from the early 1930s until the late 1960s. The grounds include a nineteenth-century barn and also arboreal memorials to Bosley family members Thomas R. Bosley, Jr. and Patricia Ann Bosley.
